Putting God firstNine Christian Romances all with one common theme - putting God and others ahead of one's own wants and wishes。 This doesn't mean the choice is easy but each book shows that the choice is the best for everyone! One needs to look beyond the confusion of some of the names, and enjoy the novels for what they are。 Putting God firstNine Christian Romances all with one common theme - putting God and others ahead of one's own wants and wishes。 This doesn't mean the choice is easy but each book shows that the choice is the best for everyone! Swoon!! I really liked the patience in suffering theme。 I’ve had to deal with that so much in my life with different health issues (though none so bad as Moxie, and some completely normal like extended sickness in pregnancy) but I think that even someone having the flu can look at it two ways。 And, when someone is in the midst of the sucky times, the last thing they probably generally want is to be told it’s building character and patience and everything else, but honestly, if you can put your negative reading up emotions aside, that’s exactly the lesson that you need to be hearing and taking to heart。 It’s all for a reason and God will use whatever he wills for his purpose to bring him the ultimate glory。Heartland HolidaysMan。 I’m at the exact same stage of pregnancy as Candace。 Some pages I get tired for her! Lol。 I enjoyed getting to know another character and the journey these two went on。 There are a lot of good lessons in here that I have been applying specifically to this pregnancy and the future。Heartland StarsI’ve gone through these sister book pretty quickly。 And, before I go on, I just can’t wait until Preston gets a book! Lol。 This stranger romance was a good one, having children in the mix was definitely something different!Heartland MistletoeI enjoyed this next installment in the series。 I like the small town and all of the characters, young and old。 It was an enjoyable romance。Heartland FaithI loved this book。 And, honestly? A lot of people probably won’t。 But that would probably be the case with most of the lessons Gussman teaches in her books。 And that’s why I love them so much。 She gets the Biblical truth out there, even if it’s countercultural to what even the Church has decided is okay and acceptable。 When believer divorce stats are the same as the unchurched, obviously there is something severely wrong and throughout her books it all boils down to the idea of self and what I deserve。 I remember growing up I learned to never talk about what I deserved。 I don’t know where it started (I assume my parents), but now whenever I hear those words, the refrain immediately runs through my head “I deserve hell。” We all do。 Nothing any ounce better than pure torture forever。 Now, actually putting all of this into practice is not easy and that’s why I keep reading Gussman’s books to keep getting convicted and to try try again! Lol。 Anyways, all that to say that her books are magnificent and can change your life (by changing your behavior and heart) if you let them。 。。。more
